I've Registered and I Can't See My Course In Canvas

Oh no! Let's make sure we can get you to class on your first day! Each course has a course website on Canvas.

Online courses will always have a course website and access is granted the day the course starts as long as the instructor has published it. The course will be listed in Canvas even if it hasn't started. You can see a list of your current and future courses by going to the Courses menu on the left and then click All Courses. If a course is greyed out and you cannot click on it, the course may not have started yet, or it's not published by the instructor.

You can also customize your Dashboard to show classes you'd like.

Note: Classes that are physically hosted on one of our campuses may or may not utilize their course website. This is up to each instructor and face-to-face courses do not have to utilize their Canvas courses.

Has your course started?

You'll gain access to your course on the first official day. To check the official start date of your course, check your class schedule in your MyCoast account by going to the Registration Tools section, and then click Student Class Program (Web Schedule Bill). Select the term and click Submit. The start date will be listed as well as other information for the class including your instructor's email address. Courses will be available the day the course starts unless your instructor tells you otherwise.

A class that has started and is published should show up on your dashboard automatically on the first day. If not, you can customize your dashboard to show your favorite courses.

My class has started but it's not published.

If your online class has started and it's not published, you can email your instructor to notify them. It's a small step but it can have a big impact. We're on top of this though! We run a report of all unpublished Online courses and notify the respective Deans. We want to make sure you have a smooth experience in your Online course.
